    The Misahualli Forest is a secondary Amazonian Forest, that means a forest in which humans introduced foreign vegetable species for their survival and now other things. It’s located next to the Misahualli harbor and Tena city, Capital of the Napo province (At approximately 4 hours of Quito or Baños by road). The region is irrigated by Napo river, tributary of the Amazon river and by other rivers such Misahualli and Jatun Yacu (ideal for rafting). This region is specially recommended for the travelers who discover the Amazon for the first time and/or who are looking for a shorter and economic tour. It’s well appreciated for its luxuriant flora, medicinal plants, its famous local birds, monkeys and the Indigenous culture « Quichuas ».

Activities According to the Lodge and the Weather

  • Hiking or soft walks in the forest, observation of the trees, medicinal plants, insects, birds, and eventually animals…
  • Transfers and rides by canoe,
  • Swimming in rivers and possible fishing,
  • Visit of a butterfly farm with more than 1200 species of butterflies native to Colombia (on option),
  • Visit at  Quichua family house: discovery of its local handicrafts, accessories, use of blowpipe, gold panning and/or meeting with a « Shaman » (the doctor of the forest) and other activities,
  • Visit of an animal shelter, and a small Quichua museum.

This Program Includes :
